THE INSPIRATION - Pete the blue and gold Macaw makes his debut as one of REK’s avian subjects. The use of colour and impossibly fine detail deepens as light and shadow in the subject become the focus of this piece. set against a moody background which delicately graduates from midnight blue to intensely deep purple. REK creates his signature Ultra-lifelike depth while the softness and interplay of light and shadow in Pete’s feathers is truer to life than ever before.

THE PROCESS - High resolution drum scanned original is then Giclée printed onto German hahnemule photo rag 308 gsm paper using Epson's acclaimed Ultrachrome k3 longlife pigment inks.
