This work is set against a dramatically Simplistic ultra white background. The artists hyperrealist style captures the arrestingly dramatic subject, a full human skull adorned with a glittering gold crown.The crown is encrusted with giant sapphires, rubies, emeralds, amethyst and sparkling diamonds . trimmed with a classically regal ermine fur collar.The largest of the artists "skulls behaving badly" series, which contrasts luxury and excess with mortality in a reimagining of the ancient Dutch Vanitas art movement of the 14th century.
