THE INSPIRATION  - This piece sees another of REK’s favourite subjects, Shadow the hyacinth macaw, in a stand-off against his own mirror image. 
 
REK begins to explore the concept of arranging his subjects in architectural and emblematic configurations – his commentary broadens from the real threat faced by all wildlife through habitat loss, into the use of wildlife as simply exotic objects to be used for our own decoration and fascination. 
 
THE PROCESS  - This extremely limited release of only 50 fine art reproduction prints are created on Cotton Rag Paper (this is not paper at all but is in fact very fine cotton fibres woven into a paper-like product) Cotton Rag is the media of choice due to its archival qualities and similarities to the paper artists paint on.

- High resolution drum scanned original is then Giclée printed onto German hahnemule photo rag 308 gsm paper using Epson's acclaimed Ultrachrome k3 longlife pigment inks.
